Build the record cancer patients deserve.
Care Journal is built by Burna AI, a small, technically rigorous team building the safety and data quality platform for oncology drug development. The work is hard. The team is small. The mission is real.
The weeks between visits are where the story is.
Care Journal is the patient-facing surface of Burna AI’s platform. A patient using it may be having one of the hardest weeks of their life, and the product is built to meet that with dignity. The work sits at the intersection of consumer mobile, healthcare-grade compliance, clinical AI architecture, and patient-centered design. Done well, it quietly improves the experience of cancer patients and their families.
We build with four kinds of people.
Engineers who are particular about correctness
Healthcare AI gets built by engineers who care about the difference between the model is usually right and the system structurally cannot be wrong in this dimension. Care Journal’s architecture is the second kind.
Designers who think in terms of dignity
The patient using Care Journal may be having one of the hardest weeks of their life, and the design reflects that. Designers here read the declarative dignity register before they sketch a screen.
Clinicians and informaticians who want to build
There is a strong clinical advisory board, and room for clinicians who want to be inside the build, shaping the product day to day, not just reviewing release candidates.
Operations people who move quickly and accurately
The team is small, so operations roles are leverage roles. The right person, careful and fast at small scale, can change a lot.
Where we are hiring right now.
Not seeing your role? Write to nnenna@burna.ai with a short note on what you would build and why Care Journal is where you would build it. We are always glad to meet people who care about this work.
Come build with us.
Most of the work here is the unglamorous work, and it is the work that quietly matters.
